I'll overwhelm 'serious boxer' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-bout match which will be streamed in real-time on Netflix.

British boxer Anthony Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "break" the American as the two fighters came face-to-face to promote next month's heavyweight fight.

Ex twice unified title holder Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a massive uneven pairing - at Miami's Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Fighter's Attitude

"I'm going to break his face and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35 years old, said.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I'm going to seriously aim to hurt him. That's my goal."

Respectful Interaction

In spite of those words, a calm Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - usually recognized for his dramatics - were respectful and remained civil with each other.

Paul rather targeted ex Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and labeled him "not serious" after the Cameroonian declined a fight offer.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, criticized UK opponent Fury - and refused a large bet 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a Paul win.

"[Paul] is better than Fury - he showed up," the boxer commented.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Opponent

In spite of declaring he will punish Paul, Joshua declined to comment unfavorably about his opponent's fighting skills.

"Jake is a serious fighter," he remarked.

Jake Paul's History

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has primarily fought mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since entering professional boxing.

He was defeated by Briton Fury in 2023.

Commercial Attraction

Still, the inexperienced fighter continues to be one of boxing's greatest financial successes, regularly earning substantial paydays.

Forecast and Belief

The 28 year old predicted a knockout win in round four or five and asserted he would prevent the highly-expected match between Joshua and Fury, which is allegedly being planned for two years from now.

"The next fight will be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul stated.

Size Difference

As Joshua and Paul met for the usual confrontation, with their height and weight contrast on show, it highlighted just how surprising this complete situation is - and how astonishing it is that the match is actually going ahead.
